CA Joseph remembers strolling through the streets of Queens and Manhattan, and even as a teenager, he was prone to empathizing with those individuals that society shunned. I was constantly observing the homeless, the addicted, and the distressed. I always wanted to understand the whys, what's and how's of their circumstances, he says.
It was this lust for understanding that drew him to people who needed a listening ear. He travelled a lot throughout the years, and later, during stints as a freelance writer, was able to interact with many fascinating individuals. They influenced his appreciation of the deeper issues that affect a wide cross-section of society; the type of issues he sought to write about.
After many years of secular employment, he still found more fulfilment in doing what he loved best- putting meaning to the many deep experiences of those he encountered.
That was when he developed the idea for a trilogy of unconventional fiction, the first of which was the book From the Depths of Despair: Love: How Ted Forsook White Supremacy to Marry his Princess.
I truly wanted to relate topics that would inspire and enlighten he says. The series brings to life issues not only pertinent to African Americans, but to people around the world.
For me, there are few boundaries! he says.

Book Synopsis
From the Depths of Despair: Love: How Ted Forsook White Supremacy To Marry His Princess was meant to be bigotry's WORST Nightmare!- a deliberate attempt at exposing the pointlessness of those who hold onto centuries-old intolerance.
Set in Southern Mississippi, this fictional book details the transformation of a White Supremacist through the eyes of a black author. It chronicles the life of Ted, a future charismatic White Supremacist leader, from his early years, which were characterized by Klan rallies and a racist outlook. This outlook was encouraged by his mother Jen, his uncle Rick, a reverend of a Southern White Supremacist Church, and his father and grandfather, who were senior members within the Ku Klux Klan.
Ted grows up in Flowood, where he is taught the precepts of hatred from early childhood, and as result of his academic prowess, he is encouraged by his father to pursue a college education. It was believed that this education would ultimately put him in line to lead a vicious paramilitary White Supremacist sect, of which his father was also a leader.
Ted does his family proud, heading to college, where he excels academically and creates an independent college hate-group, which quickly becomes a full-fledged arm of the paramilitary sect. He is the treasure of his deeply prejudiced family who are dedicated to a twisted cause, the Great Day of War against minorities.
While still in college, however, he comes home during one of his breaks and attends a hunting expedition with his relatives. But this trip would turn out far different to previous ones. While sitting by a stream, looking through the scope of his hunting gun, Ted sees a sight that would ultimately test everything his family ever taught him. A young, beautiful African American woman enters the water.
Ted's eyes are immediately fixated on Nicky's every move, and he contemplates shooting her at first. Then suddenly, something inexplicable overcomes the young Klansman!
Ted is immediately confronted with a turbulent internal battle; a battle that would make him realize that there is no force in the world more powerful than the simple four-letter word, LOVE.
He sets out on a quest to find the object of his obsession. With the help of Nicky, who is initially oblivious to his shameful past, he undergoes a dramatic transformation. But not before reaching the Depths of Despair!
