Happy New Year! 2001 is definitely off to a great start with lots of literature events and plenty of new book releases. I hope this year will be another banner year for each of you and especially for the African-American literature market.
I am writing to let you know about the upcoming African-American Literature Conference 2001 being held at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. This is the Second Annual Conference. Last year the conference featured national and local authors like Omar Tyree, Blair Walker, Gwynne Forrester, Donna Hill, Dorothy Phaire and more (Read more about last year's event here). This year promises to be just as exciting. This years literature conference will be held on:
Saturday, April 7,2001 at the Nyumburu Cultural Center on the University of Maryland College Park Campus. Please be sure to mark your calendars and attend the event. It is FREE and open to the public.
This year's conference will include panel discussions, book readings, poetry readings, book signings and more. This year we will have panels focusing on various genres including, but not limited to, fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery, self-help, inspirational, financial empowerment, self-publishing (ins and outs), legal issues of the publishing industry and more.
