Denise Morrison has been married to her husband Edward Morrison for over 27 years. The couple has two children, Anthony and Christine. Denise has grown weary of her marriage. When it comes to continuing to be the quiet, unassuming assistant to the loving but domineering Edward, Denise is beyond the point of being "sick and tired" of it. This holiday season Denise is going to declare her independence. Her marriage is either going to be one of equal partners or she will say goodbye to it.

Rockin' around the Christmas Tree is a small, cute, light hearted novel. The plot and the characters are extremely predictable and in spots real boring. Edward and Denise were OK lead characters, but I had more fun when Edward's feisty older relatives, Uncle Eddie and Aunt Etta were in the mix. Despite these shortcomings, I liked the novel. Rockin' around the Christmas Tree is the perfect size and moves with the proper flow that makes it a wonderful read during a holiday. It's not too big, has a storyline that does not requires too much thought, providing a nice bit of escapism.
