Submission Guidlines phati'tude (which means "emphatic attitude"), founded 1996, is
a literary magazine of poetry, fiction and essays by both emerging and established writers
of diverse origins whose works exhibit social, political, and cultural awareness. Does not
always have to be serious -- humor is welcome (it's good to know we can laugh at
ourselves, or that we don't always take others' stupidity seriously). Especially
interested in, though not exclusively devoted to, writers of Native and African,
Hispanic/Latino, and Asian descent. No specifications on form, length, or style;
however, work must be of the highest quality with emphasis on language and verse. No hate
poetry, no excessive cursing, cutsey, religious or greeting card stuff. Translations
accepted. Also interested in profile pieces on poets/writers. Reviews books of poetry and
novels in 500-1,500 words. Open to unsolicited reviews. Send books or galleys for review
consideration, Att: Book Reviewer. phati'tude Literary Magazine
